1980 - The pulse feature on my winshield wipers dosn't work. First of all I assume I have this feature because the switch has the reostat and 3 positions...no gaurentee it's the original switch though. It's not the switch, tried a new one, same result. Slow speed on the first two settings butno pulse??? Any help???
Some more info..the circuit diagram shows a "intermittent wiper controler assembly" If you look at replacement motor assemblys, they are the same for 74-82. According to Chilton's, delay was not avalable until 1978??? So what is this intermittent assembly?
Well after a weekend of searching books (Chilton's ain't worth the powder to blow it up) parts stores, tearing stuff, tracing wires, removing the dash etc. I finally came across a post on the internet telling where the intermittent controller is located....Those engineers are never at a loss for playing hide and seek...it's in the jack box...who would have thought. The post also said the contoller costs about $300. Holy cow Batman
By the way I have a used wiper motor, I put a new one on because the pinhead at the parts store said the contoller was in the motor assembly (not). I've had enough with this one so the new motor stays.

Hi
I believe that the pulse circuitry is in the wiper motor.
It's 25 years old-you can probably justify replacing the wiper motor.

Well it's about the only thing that I havn't replaced. Shure would like to be able to test the voltage input into the motor to see the voltage in fluctuate before I blow some more of my hard earned cash (which I need for $2.00+/gal gas to feed this beast), but I can't figure out how

The pulse unit on the older cars was located in, and was part of the washer pump housing. There were three seperate connectons to the wiper motor assy, instead of just two.

My 79 service manual shows the delay controller assembly in the center console under the radio. Don't know if this helps.
