Wiper override switch in my ‘70 won’t stop wipers in midstream to change blades. Electrical checks are good. Could it be the wiper motor that is new but had same problem with original motor

Hello, Well, the BEST over ride i have in my 72' is, Just before they get where you want them stop, Turn the ignition switch off. They'll stop when the power stops!

Not in my ‘70. When you turn the key off the wipers go to the park position. The wiper override switch is meant to stop the wipers in midstream to be able to change the blades. Any other ideas you can think of to help me with this issue? I need this switch to work for NCRS judging. Thanks, Scott

You say the electrical checks good, but...is the SWITCH itself good? It should kill the electrical circuit when turned off. I have a great troubleshooting guide for the early wiper door/headlight system, but unfortunately, I cannot find it on this new PC. I thought I transfered all that stuff over, but apparently did not. Of course, just to make things more interesting, my old pc now refuses to even boot up....🤕 I still have it on a CD somewhere tho. I'll look and see can I find it and send it your way. Might have something to help.
