the nut might be metric. i know on some of the older stereos that i
installed that they had metric nuts on the shaft and if it appears to
be that as joel said you might want to check for metric

Now, the replacement switch may be a different story. I couldn't see them making a repro that had metric threads, but...stranger things have happened.
I think you're gonna find they are SAE fine thread, but just a weird pitch...I wish I had one handy...I could check.

Joel; I appreciate you taking a peek. I'm going to stop by the corvette repair shop (Corvette Connection, Bohemia NY) here by me, they did my power steering conversion. Maybe he has one laying around. It's odd that the switch is sold without a nut. I even purchased another new one from Corvette America, which shows a nut with the switch, but of course no nut arrives.
