My 72 had no wiper motor when I bought it...among other things...I have installed a new motor and all new wiring harnesses. But I can not find a picture or anything that shows me where the ground wire attach's to the wiper motor. I've looked all through my AIM manual and every other book I have and can't find a picture. Things I have seen it looks like it attach's to one of the mounting bolts for the wiper motor. I have the little spade for the wire to plug onto, I just don't know which bolt to put it on. If anyone has a Pic I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks

I only have the later models to go by and a pic wouldn't do it. I tried unwrapping the wires going to the motor but it's not obvious (didn't find a green one). Only a wiring diagram will tell the story. Some guys here are able to come up with the diagrams so hopefully they'll notice this thread and come to the rescue.

Looking at the wireing diagram the ground should be the same black wire ground as the Blower motor

Thanks Robert, that would explain why I didn't recognize it. that's a slip on plug on my motor.

I think on my 71 the wiper motor grounds through the dash switch.

The wiper motor casing should be grounded, and it is the same wire that runs to the blower motor. The wiper switch[/]also must be grounded for the wipers to work properly. The wiper motor has 12v on it at all times with the key on. The wiper switch provides the ground for the different wiper speeds.

Since I re-formatted this 'puter, I haven't reinstalled my wiring diagrams, so I can't help with that, but I'm sure Bob is correct.

OK....so my ground spade needs to be on the motor casing....that is what I needed. I looked at a bunch of Vetts for sale on the internet today trying to find a pic to show me which bolt to attach it to. I did find one pic that looked like it was on the top small bolt on the casing. I had it on one of the small bolts that mount the motor to the firewall but I thought about it an those have the rubber grommets on them so I didn't think that would ground the motor. I'll put it on tomorrow.
Thanks everybody

on my 72 there is pigey back connector with two black wires coming out of it with a 90 degree spade  conn. held on by  I believe a 8/32" hex head bolt with intergradeded flat washer at the 5 o'clock position that bolts the two halves of the case together anips2009-07-29 21:33:21
