I have replaced or rebuilt almost everything in this vacume system. I have just finished rebuiling my headlight actuators and replaced all the springs and they work fine but my wiper door stays up all the time. I don't know if it has anything to do with my wipers only working when I push in on the switch for washer or not. I have traced all the hoses by the way they are all new, can't hear a leak anywhere, any idea's where to look? About the only thing not new is the wiper relay valve behind the dash and the relay under the console.

Search the archives for articles on this. There is a troubleshooting guide somewhere. If not, there is one that sells for $12.00. You get step by step instructions.

I had that problem, it would pop up when I gave it the gas. Switch located on passenger side wiper arm under the door. Check on that switch.

That switch was missing on the car when I started so that switch is new, not that that means it works. You are talking about the vacume switch that the wiper arm comes down and makes contact with right? I got a troubleshooting guide when I ordered the new vacume hoses from Doc Rebuild but I am only about 1/2 way through it. I will press on, thanks. By the way fp vetter72 thats a nice looking blue 72 convertable. I'm kinda partial to'em.

Lonnie...it sounds more like an electrical deal than vacuum at this point. The wipers not working kinda points in that direction.
I can e-mail ya some stuff that might help. It covers the vac and electrical stuff on the wiper system.
