Thinking Long hood replacement to elimate wiper door.
Stuck because most of the long hoods I've seen do not cover the bottom of the windshied when closed. might not be seeing the right L88 long hood? Your C3 thoughts?

If you like the look it would sure save you some money and it would sure eliminate a lot of hassle with the door, vacuum system etc...I have only seen a few that have been changed. I don't remember how far up they came. I'll do some checking. By the way...I grew up out in the country between Modesto and Riverbank. Still have a lot of friends out there.

Any "long" style hood is not going to go all the way to the glass...gotta have room for the wipers to sweep. Look at some '73-'76 hoods for a comparison. Matter-o-fact, why not get a '73-75 hood, then you'll have the wiper area covered, AND get the cowl induction set-up too?
Just an idea...

Remember that the top of the fenders is different between long and short hood cars. The wiper door has trim across the top that continues onto the fender. It is a bit of work to modify the fender to match. Or you can just live with the difference.
The aftermarket L88 long hoods look right, and have the cowl induction, or, as Joel said, just use a stock 73-75 hood with the induction grill cut into it.
