Thanks Sarge.  I don't mind losing the intermittent option of the wipers, until I need it.

Interesting topic.  My delay will quit working but somehow work again later...maybe a year later.   Granted I might only see rain with it once a year or so and if the switch is on vacation, Rainex keeps the windshield clear enough.  I purchased a new dashboard switch decades ago but have never attemped to try to replace it..... it's tight up there in upper reaches of that dash.  Good to know it's in the back.

Yes, very tough to get to.  I had my dash recovered with the same leather the seats were done so they would match.  Unfortunately, it's starting to separate from the top of the dash.  If we get good enough weather and the rest of the projects on the car are done before the trip I might repaint the car.  I'm going to pull the interior and I'll fix it then.  I hate to just pull it to fix the leather, it's a real PIA.

Ya, really! The earlier cars had it on the fuse box....not the easiest place to get to, and it was apparently really easy to kick!

OK here is where I'm at on the wipers.  Started the car up for the first time(it did start right up) checked the wipers again and nothin' except I could here the relay clickingSmile.  I checked the voltage going to the wiper motor and it read 11.88Smile.  I pulled the motor and ran a couple of wires to it off the battery and it ran...OK,Angry now what?  I put it back in  and hooked it up and no goAngry.  So this is what I'm reading on the volt meter***I know NOTHING about this crazy lectricity magic***except don't lick any plugs!

On the 3 wire plug, wire colors are Brown, Tan and Green(?). Then a black ground single female plug.

volt readings:
Black to Brown 12
Black to Tan 0
Black to Green 12
Brown to Green 0
Brown to Tan 12
Tan to Green 12

I may also have a bad alternator.  I'm gonna pull it and have it tested.
Thanks
