Sorry for the bad phone camera pic, but I got the "new" hood on and adjusted, and started sanding at the bad side.  Found what looks to be a piece of fiber glass graphted in place with bond...Dead  The bondo was cracking and flaking.  Someone tried to hide it with red primer which is really filling up the sand paper.
 
Going to shoot to have it painted by May...

Looks like you're gonna have fun this winter, Steve.   At least you are down in Texas and hopefully the weather doesn't get too bad.

I haven't decided on color yet...  It was factory silver anniversary paint, but it's not like those are really rare...
