WINDSHIELD WIPERS

i recently changed my wiper switch because my wipers would stop in the middle of the stroke and then continue on when on delay only work fine on low or hi does any one know where the problem could be did the same thing with old switch where is the delay controler at

I've seen some posts mentioning a relay module in the battery compartment. I don't remember though what years they were in reference to. I took a quick peek in both the Chilton's and Haynes repair manuals I have and neither one referenced the relay.
