Went to take the Corvette out for a Father's Day drive. Got a half mile down the road and the engine stopped. Tried to restart it, but it would not start. Pulled breather and see that I am getting gas.
With the sudden stopping and the fact that there is gas, it is likley electrical.
Any suggestions on what to look for?

Does it turn over?
Do you have power? (radio, lights, etc.)
Did you check anything? (Like a loose battery cable, alternator wire. etc.)
Have you done any recent work on it? (Like change alternator, starter, keyswitch?)
Any information can be helpful...... and help to narrow down the possibilities.

Ignition Module?

Mine stalled out and backfired a few times before it completely quit.
Might be worth a look seein' as it's an easy fix.
Let us know.

The '75 has the HEI ignition...no points.
I'd agree with the ign module for starters, until we have more info.
Check the red(may look pink) wire going into the dist cap...make sure it is plugged in well. You may want to check for 12v on that wire with the key on, too...

Engine turns over, but doesn't start, all lights work. I tested the B- and BAT and have power to both of these, so I'm taking ignition module to have it tested. It looks real old. Must be original.

The issue was the ignition module. It tested out bad, so got a new one. Car is back on the road again.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh that was an easy fix for you. My vette was in the shop for two weeks trying to figure out the problem. Combination of ECM and Carb. All better now, runs like a champ. (She is a champ!!).

Glad you got it going!
Here's a little tip, tho...when replacing the ign module, especially one that has failed like that, it's best to also replace the cap, rotor, and coil, too. High resistance in the circuit from questionable plugs, wires, or the cap/rotor, can cause the module to get way too hot, and fail prematurely, and can actually be the cause of the original failure.
Also, make sure to smear the grease that comes with the module on the bottom of it, where it bolts to the distributor. That is a special grease that helps transfer module heat to the dist. housing, like a heat sink. Without the grease, the module will fail.

yep, mine failed out of thr blue too. I actually want to replace the entire distributor just to ensure it doesnt happen agin. I have gone thru 2 in a short period, one just failed and I left the ignition on all n ight after working on it. but imma gunna keep a spare on hand for future.
