In my '79 Corvette I have an interior bulb that fits in to a gray colored plastic socket with a clip as part of the socket housing. It is currently hanging from a white and an orange wire just behind the hood release lever (under the driver's side dash).
I can't for the life of me figure out where it is supposed to be clipped to.
Anybody know?
Thanks for any ideas,
Kevin

I looked at the AIM and it looks like you have to remove the LF fender, the inner liner, and then an access plate in order to mount the light.

Kevin, I just took a look under there. Laying on my back with a flash light under the steering wheel it is still kinda hard to see just how it is clipped in but it is up there tucked into a little space right next to the dash vent above the hood release.
Al, It hit 50 here in Maine today. What? did you move to Siberia or the North Pole or something?

There should be a metal clip up on the top of the kick panel with a square hole in it. It clips into it.< id="gwProxy" ="">< ="jsCall;" id="jsProxy" ="">

I know that it is an interiior light. As you sit in your vet it is in the dash over your left knee. There is a spot for that light to fit under the dash in front of the hood release. It is difficult but not impossible to put the bulb back where it goes.

I think I got it in the right place.
Just to the left of the hood release there is a square cut out portion of the carpet on the kick panel. I stuffed the clip portion of the bulb housing down there and it seems to fit as it should. The bulb
just barely clears the hood release but it seems to be correct.
Thanks for everyone's input on this!
