I want to flush mount my rear speakers here, boxes are too big. How much room do I have?

I have some nice sharp long drill bits that'll go through that bulkhead and whatever other unimportant object is behind there. I'll even loan you a old kerosene lantern to help you see back there.

Yeah, thanks but no. I know what's back there but was wondering about mounting the speakers and then figured there are better folks than me who do this for a living and they don't flush mount 'em for a reason.

You could do "nutserts" on the bulkhead and figure out some brackets allowing you bolt the speakers to the bulkhead. I'm going to do something like this to mine to secure my speaker box.
Don't worry if you screw up with the drill, I have a 2 extra '78-'82 fuel tanks laying around.

I've attached them to the roof of the car with a couple of lag bolts. They sit right behind my head.

Both of them?

This reminds me that I did see a pic one time of someone who had cut holes in the rear bulkhead to mount speakers flush on the inside....the "works" hung out in the open....no covers or nuttin....
