I've managed this before, but now I just can't get the door handle to slide over the mount. Is there a trick to getting the mechanism open in order to slide the handle over it?
Help!

Put the spring clip on just enough to hold it but not so far that it drops into the slots. I suspect that it has dropped down into the slots which will prevents the handle from going on the shaft.

Oh the door handles, Let me see I do believe a lot of foul language would be involved, whether it helps has not yet been determined.

Loop a coat hanger(or similar) around the door latch end, and pull outward. Then you can slide the handle on, and remove the wire/rope.

Okay, I managed to get it on today. I have to wonder how the factory managed some of these issues. . .
Thanks for the comments.

I just realized that I was thinking of the window crank, not the door handle. I remember doing it, just not how.
