So I want to change the 5001/5006 headlights on my 80. But which one is the best?? I see xenon, halogen, led, halo angel eye hid, and crystal diamond bulbs.
The leds seem to interest me the most based on power consumption and no filament. On the led note, what would be a good wattage on the low beam? I see anywhere from 20w to 36w.
I know some bulbs will require wiring changes and some will need to modify the shell to hold them. Some of the lights available have plastic lenses and some are glass. Just looking to upgrade the old eyeballs to something brighter.
Still plugging away on the resto-mod. Lots of health issues in the last 6 years including 4 new cardiac stents ( 6 total), Diabetes, and 16 yes 16 kidney stones with 11 laser surgeries to blast the turds. Largest stone so far.... 15mm. OW!!
You know... it's really hard to kill me off. I will probably get the car all done and then kick the bucket. I will finish it.

I switched mine over to HID's about 6 yrs ago http://corvettec3.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1289063731/0 still works fine & they are bright.
