Hey guys, Im looking to get my 80 vette painted soon but have no idea on what i should expect to pay for a good job...Any idea's..?

Well Ron, I'm way over here on the left coast, but my buddy runs a custom paint shop out of his home (his full time job). He gets about 6 K for a full paint job, but he does a lot of variables. That's what he charged for a '78 Pacer (great detail, including decals and glass smooth clearcoat). I had to trade him my boat (1985 bayliner outboard worth $3 k) to paint my '81 and he reminds me that I have to pick a color close to mine cause he's not doing the door jambs for that much
. Too labor intensive it seems. I've seen his invoices and paint (including clearcoat) and materials seems to average $700-800 per car. So if you want quality, be prepaired to shell out.

a freind of mine just had his car done in orlando.he bought 1200.00 in paint and painter charged him 2500.00.car looks fantastic.
