Has anyone changed out their seats for newer Corvette or Recaro ?
If so, what ones did you change to and how difficult was it to install?
My friend and I are looking to upgrade his 1970 Coupe.

I rode in a '71 with Pontiac Fiero seats. Looked great but as he admitted they sit much higher up. I like sitting down in.
I'd look for some 79-82's

As I recall, Manget1 (Marshall) put C5 seats in his C3.

I've used "Master Caster Lumbar cushions" for 25 years in my '81, 3 minivans & 2 Accords. I googled it and see only silver is available now. Used to do red, black & tan which matched all my vehicles.

I was told that 82-86 Fiero seats are a good swap and comfortable than the earlier c3 seats

You jogged my memory. It was Fiero seats I sat in last week. They were comfy but sat much higher. The owner said the upholstery shop could not get them lower in the car. If you are 6 ft tall you'll have an inch or two max above your head.

Vette(s): Silver 1974 Convertible - L82 4 speed
Low miles (was only 8,900 when I bought it in March 2006) - Now 54K miles. Original owner bought it as an investment for son's college expenses.

I did put C5 seats in my 74 convertible. Like John said about the others, they sit much higher. I bought an extra set of C3 tracks and created a template on plywood for the holes, then lined up the C5 seats and put the tracks on them (had to tap a couple of new holes). Overall, a pretty simple process.
I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!
