New to the group and I see some old discussions about the 1976 Vega Wheel. Am I correct in assuming the only change to this wheel is to change the steering column, to say a 74-75? Has anyone found an aftermarket? My wheel is in great shape, but I really don't care for it.
76 - standard steering column currently.

Ya, according to Dave McClellen they made that change to save monies!! If it were me, I would keep the original wheel. You are only original once !!

As far as I know, there are NO aftermarket adapters to allow installing a different wheel on the '76 that has the "Vega" wheel. Not all '76s had that wheel.
Changing the column is the only way that I am aware of...

Ive not seen this done but here are some links that should help you. These papers are authored by Jim Shea who knows everything there is to know about corvette steering issues..hope this helps.

corvette pacifica sells a kit to put any c3 wheel on a 76 vette. easy to install. part no. is E11518 and sells for $189.95. you do need to buy a wheel too. i have one on my 76.

Vortec Heads; Roller Rockers, 625 Demon, 700R4; Electric fan, Aluminum Rad, Full-lenght headers w/ sidepipes, fiberglass bucket w/ 5-point quick release harness.
There are "Originality Buffs" who will pay good money for you Vega wheel....don't toss it!
