Ironman's vanity mirror question got me thinking about a problem I am having with my car that I would like to get resolved while its being stored for winter.  My vanity mirror iss constantly slipping from the up position to straight down.  I can't find an adjustment screw or anything that would make it stay in the up position.  Do  any of you have any ideas on this?  Thanks in advanceWinkThumbs UpCool

Velcro? Bungie cord? Duct tape?

Not up on the mechanics of the later model visors. There is no screw on the end by the hinge?

Ken,

Check the Bushing.   This holds the visor from falling down.  It's where the chrome pivot arm attaches to the rod.

If that's not it.  Check the chrome pivot arm, 'elbow' that is attached to the t-top holes and sun visor.  This frequently breaks.

Mine was doing the same thing, drove me nuts, just slide the visor completely off of the rod ,you may have to wiggle it back and forth to get it to slide off.wrap a cloth around the edge were the rod was inside, now take a pair of pliers and GENTLY squeeze the edge of the visor end to end you will feel resistance when squeezing there is a metal U shaped liner inside the visor, that squeezes on the rod,and holds the visor in position,it may take a couple of tries to get it where you want it ,but it will work, hope it works for you
