Vette(s): 1982 C3 Collectors Edition 44000 miles, sat in the sun most of its life, My wife purchased it for me for Father's Day in 2007 from her girlfriend that had it for 19 years. It is on the road again. I'm retired but it is now my daily driver.

Thanks everyone

This is a great Registry.  I'm going to have to purchase a lifetime membership.  You guys are unbelievable.

Unfortunately I did not get this information about eBay in time to do any bidding.  I was watching grandchildren and fixing wife’s computer tinkering with my C3.  I fixed something and broke something so as far as the tinkering goes it was a wash for the day.  Not bad overall have a great wife she purchase the Corvette for me for Fathers Day this year.

Hope everyone had a good Christmas.

If anyone finds another one please let me know as I will either purchase one or remove the locking plugs when I get my C3 painted (sometime in the spring).  It is great to find out what it was at least.

Gilbert

Reasonable.  I've seen them go for $300.

I would consider leaving the plugs inplace as it appears to be a relatively rare option.  I've only seen a few CEs for sale with that option.  My two pennies worth.

btw - the winning bid was $255.  Several folks were active in the bidding and it looks like the winner swooped in at the end with a single bid.  I hate it when that happens...!!!  Angry

I wouldn't take them out.  Guys that have had the luggage rack removed will tell you that the holes have a way of coming back over time.  I waited almost a year and a half before I finally got the one I wanted for my car.  I have seen them in red and black.  They are injection molded (or appear to be) so there may be other colors out there.

As I said above, mine is in a bag that would go with a collectors edition.  If you find one in a black bag, or a red bag for that matter, and it is the one you want, let me know and I would probably trade you bags so you would have the correct one.

Not all that easy to do.  They remove from the underside of the panel.  With the wellnuts gone, you'll have four holes in the deck to fill.  Also not easy to do since you start on the backside for the patches.

FWIW:  I'd leave them in.

As always seem to get wise advice.  I will leave them in when I get the car painted.   Thanks for the preliminary offer DNV.  I will keep it in mind when I get a chance to pick a set of these up.
