Vette(s): 1978 INDY PACE CAR #3016 of #6502 built. Has original Pace car decals still in GM boxes the way it was delivered to GM dealers. per NCRS "UPDATE" Decals applied as of 3/8/02 (ALL ORIGINAL)
Cvettlovr, I am pretty sure the tops will fit. What you need to do is when you get the t-tops, also replace the hardware that fastens the tops to the car.You can use the original rear strikers on the tops if you change your rear striker plates on your 79 vette.

Vette(s): 1968 convertible; 1980 L-82. Numbers match on both.
The tops will swap. You will have to change out the hardware. Take it slow. There is a tapping plate behind each of the rear latches on the halo panel. If you remove both of the attaching screws at the same time, the tapping plate will drop to the bottom of the car. If that happens, you have no choice but to remove the interior trim and fish them out. Trust me. Been there, done that.

There seems to be some confusion here. I think replace the hardware and change out the hardware are the same thing.
Easy Mike, by the number of your recent posts let me be the first to nominate you for the C3VR Tech Job.

Vettelooker -- I respectfully decline the office of C3VR Tech. I've just been fooling with Corvettes longer than some folks and have learned lots of things the hard way.
