Vette(s): Used to own a 1979 Corvette now owned by JB79
Last night I put my glass tops on (in place of the hard tops).

For the driver's top, I could just barely get the top to sit down far enough to get the metal pole (for lack of a better term) to fit into the hole. This is the one at the back-left of the top.

Is there a way to adjust the top so if fits better, or did I screw up the installation of new weatherstripping on the top?

Thanks.

Adam..I don't think you screwed up.....it is just the weathestripping is new and not broke down like the old stuff.
I have to ''help'' my T-tops...put alittle weight on them to get them fastened..but I look at it this way....they don't LEAK!!!! |biggrin|

Yeah, I have to do that too...put some weight on them.
But mine DO leak, air and water!

Also, the drivers one is so off, that I can pull on the back edge of it, and the pole pops out of the hole.

Vette(s): Re-acquired 1982 Bright Blue Vette from the guy a sold it to 13 years ago. 1993 40th Anniv. Ruby Convertible- purchased for my wifes 40th birthday-It has Chromed Grand Sport Wheels, Grand Sport Flares and a functional rollbar.
I ordered new glass tops from Ecklers and they cam with a bag of shims and instructions on how to install. The shims actually go on the T-bar side and all they do is raise or lower the top until you get the right fit. It's kind of a pain but after about two hours of trial and error with the shims I finally got the right combination and a great fit.

Vette(s): 1980 silver/black L48 auto. Just a driver.
There is a procedure in the service manual, for adjusting the tops to fit better. i don't have it here it is at the garage, it worked for me when I replaced the weather striping on my glass tops.
I see if I can get to it tonight. I rent and we just bought some land and put a garage on it so I have to go about 20 mins to the garage.
