it sounds as if you are talking about the windshield frame. you can get
all the separate pieces foe replacement. i know ecklers has the parts.
go to ecklers.com and type in year of car and all the different
categories are there. good luck

#2 -2000 C5, black/black, 6 sp, Bose system & lots of buttons.
Does it have any rust down the metal/chrome sides of the window? You might have to take off the interior trim and look underneath to check that out too.

That's how to dot it.

Another typical area that goes bad is down at the bottom pf the windshield posts wherethe top corner of the fenders are. You'll know it's rotted through if you're carpet is getting wet next to the kick panels when you wash it or it rains.
This one is a pain to fix....

I checked the post and can see no sighs of rust. Can I trust my eye sight? What makes it all rust there should be no standing water. I can under the T top upper frame, because it can hold water but not the left and right pillar or windshield post water runs off.

If you pull the A-pillar interior trim pieces and the downtubes are
sloid you are probably okay. If the downtubes are rusty and soft near
the dash pad then that spells trouble. But it is better to find it now
versus later.
