Correct. No glue. Your screws will help keep your carpet into place.

Just put in your sound proofing/ heat shield and then lay the carpet down.

3m spray contact for carpets is all you need for the inslation if it doesn't stay down on its own , prefit it first to see how it lays, both insulation and carpet.
