O.K. everyone. Here are the instructions that I got from Mid America when I bought the tool and the springs. I replaced both sides at the same time.

The spring has a short end and a long end. It as you may already know is in the shape of a backward S. The short end is to be installed so that it is on the top and is toward the front side of the car and the long end is at the bottom and toward the back side of the car.

Step 1. Hold the spring with the short Loop toward the top.
     2. Drop the free end of the spring through the hole in the top of the hinge.
     3. Pull rearward on the bottom of the spring with the installation tool until the spring snaps into the slot in the bottom edge of the hinge.
     4. Put tension on the installation tool AWAY From THE ROLLERS and drive the spring UPWARD.
     5. Lubricate all moving parts.

You will also need a small hammer to drive the bottom of the spring into place while holding the pressure on the bottom of the upperward hook of the spring.

Now, for the tool lengths and bends.
The handle itself is 4" Long.
From the end of the handle to the bend the steel shaft is 5".
The length of the of the tool from the bend to the tip is 2 and 3/4".
The angle of the bend is 45 degrees and then just 1/4" from the very end it is bent back the opposite direction to a 30 degree angle. That little bend at the end is important for gaining just a bit more leverage against the spring so you can get it to line up with the slot in the bottom of the hinge.
The diameter of the tool is 5/16".
The very end is flattened like a flat blade screw driver.

Hope this helps. I will still send the tool to Tux along with the printed instructions tomorrow in the mail.
