Vette(s): Silver 1974 Convertible - L82 4 speed Low miles (was only 8,900 when I bought it in March 2006) - Now 54K miles. Original owner bought it as an investment for son's college expenses. 2008 Jetstream Blue Convertible
I picked up the car today from the shop who was replacing the AIR tubes on the exhaust manifolds.  They did a great job as usual, but as I was pulling the car in to the driveway, I glanced at the temp gauge and it was showing cold (dead).

My guess is that they bumped something or pulled something and forgot to reconnect.

Any simple solutions I could take a look at without taking it back there?  Obviously, if they did something, they'll take care of it, but if it's easy and I don't have to bother going back, that would be my preference.

Appreciate any ideas.

Thanks

I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!

Marshal the temp sending unit is right near where they worked. Driver side it will be between 1st and 2nd spark plug single wire coming off the fender with blade type clip just push it back on.

Isn't it nice when something is EASY for a change? How did the tubes work out? No more noise?

No more noise!  Tubes were apparently a pain to get on.  And unfortunately, instead of the brassy color of the original, these aftermarket ones are pure black.  They look nice, but they don't look original.

But at least no noise and no worries about carbon monoxide! Sometimes close is good enough!

The original AIR tubes going into the manifolds would have been black, with a gold cad plated check-valve where the hose connects. The tubes usually turned a brownish color after a while(years)....
At least ya got it all handled!!
