On my 76 I'm converting to a ZZ4 motor and can't figure out the connection of the electronic tachometer filter wiring to the distributer.
Can anyone post a picture of how thier tach filter connects to thier distributer? I see one plug in for the tach wire input from the firewall to the distributer and can't figure out how the two plugs from the filter are attached......Is thier another connector I'm not seeing somewhere on the engine harness ????Embarrassed

I got a good GM drawing of the tach filter but my computer decided to take a dump on me this weekend, once I'm all the way back up I'll look for the schematic I have.

HERE'S the GM diagram for the tach filter...
One side of the filter plugs into the dist. at the "Tach" terminal, and the other end plugs into the wire going inside to the tach. Be sure to bolt/screw the filter down to something that will give it a good ground...it won't work if it's not grounded.

Thanks Joel, I was connecting the plug on the brown wire comming from the firewall to the tach connection on the distributer rather than the plug from the filter. So I should be ok if I follow your connection discription. Thanks for the drawing also!Big%20smile

No prob Carl!
That graphic is actually an engineering/spec drawing for the tach filter, best I can tell. I "stole" it from someone else that posted it here...might have been Jason(79rebuild). I see something like that, and I'll save it in my "Tech Diagrams" folder on me 'puter...for future reference.

Thanks for keeping that Joel! I acquired it(sounds better than stealing) from someone else LOL but the internet's for sharing information, so have at it. I just got my computer back to where it's not crashing every 2 minutes and all my good data is on my storage hard drive. I got online classes going on right now so right now so I gotta keep it up and running untill I figure out what went wrong with it. I'D MUCH rather be working on my baby out in the g-rage that's fer sure!
