Vette(s): 1973 Coupe -black/red motion stripe, 427 big block,aluminum heads,solid roller cam, 500HP Nitrous plate, QA1 coilovers, 4" drop, 18's 275 F 335 R Racing seats w/ 5 pt. harness. REAL STREET

Will a electric tach from a 75 vette fit in my 73 dash? I got rid of points with a mallory hei.

Will it fit? Absolutely.
Will it work? No...unless you also install the wiring harness for it.

Thanks, did not think far enough ahead on that one. Just tring to keep interior looking nice. Should have bought tach drive i guess but was told that electric tach was better. What do you think?

Vette(s): 1973 Coupe 350 Auto.T-Tops L48,65450 miles.
 I put a Crane XR-1 kit in my 73 so I could keep the tach drive.Very easy to install and no more points and condenser. Bought it at Summit Racing for $64.00.

Another option is the Pertronix Ignitor II Breakerless Ignition kit.  I have one in my 74 and it works great.  I got mine from Corvette Central for about $120.00.

When I bought my '69 a previous owner had replaced the original tach with a '75-'77 electric model.  You do not need to replace the harness.  It is a simple 3 wire hook-up:  coil, 12v, and ground.
