I'm new to the world of C3's. I've got a '73 coupe that has been coverted to HEI. Is it possible to fit an electric tach in place of the mechanical one?

What's my best option?

Great site guys! I'm looking forward to being here. Be gentle on the newbe!

Welcome to the Shark Tank!

Might be better, and cheaper to get an HEI with tach drive. There are some kind of "conversions" out there, but I think they're pretty expensive, compared to getting an HEI/Tach drive distributer. Just my .02
You might also consider using the tach/dash out of a '75, if you can get one, but be prepared for a wiring party!
