Completely restored t tops from top to bottom. After installing on car and locking down the latches,I have a 3/8" gap between the two panels up top! Shouldn't gap be smaller? The two large line up pins in front corners are in their respective holes, rear gaps from side to side on top rear of roof are nice fitting.I have no photos to compare before/after.

Is the 3/8 gap down the middle uniform from front to back or is it wider in the front?

Slightly narrower at rear. Are you on to something?

There is a little bit of adjustment in the front alignment peg, and the back latch plate, so you can get them pretty even.  But 3/8" is not a bad gap.

There is a screw that holds the front "bullet" pin in place, loosening that screw will allow the "bullet" and its mounting plate to move side to side for some distance.  As Larry said, it is limited adjustment but some.  I installed new glass tops this past winter and the directions stated to loosen ALL hardware on the tops, install them on the car, push them to the desired location and spacing and only then start tightening any of the mounting hardwared, makes sense and it helped me get mine aligned.
