The underside or interior side of the t tops gets covered with the large panel. However all around the exposed edges gets painted.Regardless of body color shouldn't this be like a semi gloss finish?

Some of them were body color, others were coated with flat black.

You may want to check out a copy of the NCRS Technical Information Manual & Judging Guide. The 75 to 77 guide costs $30 on the NCRS web site. The one I have for 68 to 69 says it's suppose to be the body color. Not sure if that standard is the same for your year.

Yes. Probably semi-gloss. Do your tops have remaining evidence of the original color in these areas? If so, you'd be safe going back with the existing color.

Since this car was re-painted before I bought it,I can't tell if factory painted body color(deep red)or if the factory painted satin black.Car will be yellow, but I thought would have cleaner look if painted satin black.

the underside of the T-tops should be painte the color of the panel, ie the interior color. Such is mine.

Since you are changing the color of the car, you obviously aren't concerned about NCRS correct, so I say paint them however you like. Semi gloss black sounds nice to me, but so does yellow, or interior color.
Isn't it nice to have options?

This is a good kweschun! For some reason, I don't think I've ever even paid attention to it. I'mma sittin here trying to visualize the underside of the tops, and I can't remember any area of mine(the '74) that is exposed...seems like they are covered by the trim panel/headliner, and the weatherstripping....
Now I'm gonna have to go home and look at mine!

Flat black on my '82 glass tops. Of course all the trim on '82 is flat black.
