How is the removable backlight stored in a stock 1970 coupe?  I can see some brackets against the rear of the storage compartment, but something seems to be missing. Can anyone describe the stock storage mechanism and what should be there? Does anyone have pictures of the backlight stored properly? Thanks for your help. You can e-mail me directly at mcocchiola@cfl.rr.com.

There should be a storage "tray" up there, to hold the glass up against the top of the deck area. It sounds like it has been removed. They did get damaged, so that's probably what happend to it.
I can almost guarantee someone here will post a pic of one!! Hey, Micki!! Take a pic of yours!!

I found a couple of them on E-Bay, if you'd like to look.

Be warned......they are VERY proud of them!!!Adams' Apple38845.7425115741

Bloody handle keeps snapping on mine.  Make sure you get all the rubbers for it as well, otherwise the glass will rattle and really piss you off.

Thank you all for helping me out on the backlight issue, particularly with the picture. I know now what's missing and I'll shop around for the tray. Thanks again... Mike68

Mike-

I tried to post a photo of my tray with it open and that back courtesy light way in the back so you could see.  Mine's all together & ok (that's the only thing ok).  I had 2 good shots.  I know my clip is different than yours.  Anyway, I had no luck posting the picture (they changed that on me) but I got it loaded in my personal file.  If you would like to see, I could email them to you, but I though I should ask first if you were still interested.

Later Gator!

Mick
