There is a black wire coming out of the wire bundle for my starter and I don't know where it goes. I have the engine out now, and I'm not sure if it was connected at all before (I'm sure I looked and thought "I need to remember this" -- but you know how that goes. . .).
The wire colors on my starter do not jive with any of the wiring diagrams, so I'm hoping someone can help.
What is there is the following:
- Large black wire goes to the large post on the starter. I assume this comes directly from the battery.
- Smaller yellow wire also goes to the large post on the starter. I believe this feeds power back to the rest of the car.
- Yellow wire that goes to the start post on the starter.
- Small black wire that is grounded to the starter.
- And this small black wire that has a small connector on it. An ohm meter shows zero resistance to the smaller yellow wire that powers the car, but also some resistance to ground (like maybe it goes through some other circuit).
Help!

Bill, I saw your post regarding Starter wiring as I was going through some past forum topics. I sent you a PM with a video link that I hope will help you. Good luck.

I noticed that my amp gauge was not working, and after reading other posts on this forum about the amp meter, I realized that this wire is for the amp gauge and should have been hooked up to the large lug on the starter motor.
Tha amp gauge now works.
