Vette(s): 1982 C3 Collectors Edition 44000 miles, sat in the sun most of its life, My wife purchased it for me for Father's Day in 2007 from her girlfriend that had it for 19 years. It is on the road again. I'm retired but it is now my daily driver.
I'm doing good and he did turn the key on before he pushed the button. Look quickly at the start of the video and you can see min turn the key. I would have miss it but earlier you stated that you had to turn the key on so I was watching for it.

I told you there were some smart guys on this site that would have your answer. I had no idea someone would come up with a video of the push button start system installed.
Wife is still talking about coming back to France but I do not think it will be this year.

Gilbert, I found that vid a few years ago when I was looking for vettes with a cam I was thinking of using. I remembered the start button and his question triggered that memory. And I agree, he did turn the key which I am sure energizes the ignition system.
Jean, that's really cool that you have a vette in France! Bet you get a lot of stares. Hard to get parts? Expensive to fill up? Good luck with the start button - you should your own YouTube vid when you get it working.

Vette(s): Corvette! A child's dream come true since last year!
Thank you all for your help! Many people turn their heads when they see you drive an american car, especially the Corvette! But most of the French do not like cars at their fair values and they do not have your culture of the car. To me, you are the pioneers! I would have loved to live in the USA just to hear the V8 to every streets corners
For parts, I order ESSENTIALLY on Eckler's, Zipcorvette and Ebay Motors! The shipping costs increase the price of the parts by two but when you love, you do not count! we have only one life, is not it? I make a video of the result when it's finish and i post here! Good day to all

To put it simply, you wire it like you would a race car. A simple push button switch wired between the starter solenoid and hot battery cable on the starter, and disconnecting the original wire going to starter solenoid...that will do it. We wired our street stock race cars this way after stripping out the interior and dash. We used a simple on/off switch to power the ignition.

Dan, from another perspective...wouldn't it be the same as a remote starter switch like this:
I would think if someone was so inclined you could mount this the same way the guy in the video.
Dave C..........My mantra: I can not be bought!! Long and short term leases available.
In the words of Zora Arkus-Duntov "Is your seat belt fastened? Alright, Let's go"
Yeah, I know, Shut up Dave.

You are exactly correct...a remote start switch serves the same purpose...just not as pretty
