today i noticed something weird....when the light is shining in a certain angle on my car  i started to see speckles in the paint of the hood.
the car has been painted 2-3 months ago and this is the first time i noticed.
before i go back to the bodyshop complaining i thoght i best prepare myself what might be wrong.
i can't feel the speckles with my fingers (yet)  it just looks like there are speckles all over the hood.

in and around the shine of that light you can see those spots... although on a pic it looks different than in real.. but anyway you can see there seems a problem.

i can remember vague when i was removing old paint with sandpaper it looked like there were tiny "holes" in the hood.
is that a prob of anging of the fiberglass ?
atleast.. from what i have seen at the bodyshop they did a solid job with putting primer on.. and sanding.. primer again.... sandingg.. etc . atleast it was certainly not done as a rush job .

any idea ?

I'm sure some of the more experienced painters will respond, but that looks to me to be dirt/trash in the clear coat. Or, heaven forbid, water in the air lines of the spray booth!
Whatever it is, the painter should be made aware of it ASAP. It would be best to have this taken care of now, BEFORE you get the car all the way back together. This I say from experience.

Art,
Did you get a gel-coat ? I think that would have filled all the fiberglass imperfections if there were any? The paint booth venting system should have kept the dust and paint particle's off the car during painting? You say you cannot feel any bumps? I wonder if when the solvents evaporated it left the specks? Do you notice this any place else? If it's just the hood, was the hood painted the same time as the rest of the car? Could it be some thing in the clear coat? I would go back to the painter and get him involved, maybe in the paint mix?

*-I agree with Joel - looks like trash and junk or water in the system . A good paint man should be able to help

been to the bodyshop.. without my vette still , but the guy thought most likely that it is the solvent causing the speckles. anyway.. it surely isn't water or dirt in the system (i didn't even expect that to be possible  at that bodyshop )

but to be 100% sure the guy wil take a look at the vette  .

Solvent "pop" is certainly a possibility...still not a good thing to have happen. Have you checked the rest of the car for the same problem? You may need to spend a hour looking very closely at all of the surfaces. Now would be the time to fix it.
If it IS a solvent issue, I think the only way to really get it right would be to sand it back down, and start over.
