Gunslinger's question was about kick panel speaker size. I thought for sure those are 4 X 10's. Very difficult to find anything that is in that size any more. Other posts are correct in saying the modern 4 ohm speakers will damage the original radio. Adding resistors may stop the damage, but also provides for a terribly inefficient speaker. I would suggest fabricating new speaker enclosures for the rear, or adapting something for the kick panels.

Edit: corrected speaker size for kick panel speakers.

Vette(s): 1974, 454 with 4 on the floor, matching numbers.

Go with the 4X6's. I don't know how much of a difference there is between your 69 and my 74 kick panel, but I'm preparing to upgrade my system (as soon as hibernation is over) and discovered that the Infinity 4X6 will fit behind my kickpanel without any cutting. I already got the electronics, I'm going to order the pre-cut bezel for my new head unit, and the speaker box for the rear (fits corvettes, I hope).

Now I need help ! How hard is it to remove & replace the bezel ? Are the gauges attached to the dash or the bezel ?

Thanks
