sparkplug wire carbon graphite/copper

i am replacing my sparkplug wiring with a same set of yellow  8mm accel  superstock wire .
when putting the wire and sockets together i noticed  it has "conductive high resistance carbon graphite " ( as the box say  ) inside where  i ( as a wiring newbe) would expect copper...  now i am just curious what is the advantage ..or disadvantage of this carbon graphite over copper ( on package where both "versions" mentioned as being available)

Copper core is essentially for racing. You'll have hellacious noise in your radio with the copper core. When they say resistance wires, they really mean radio frequency interference (RFI) resistance.

If you don't have a radio it doesn't much matter which way you go, but for all intents and purposes, for the street you won't notice a performance difference with carbon graphite resistor wires.

The carbon type wires will shock the pee out of you just as bad as the solid core wires will!
I'm wid Gunslinger here. Go with the regular(non-solid core) wires.

The carbon wires are also more flexible.  The will last longer with engine vibration before they break.  This was not a problem when racing and doing lots of maintance.  But for street cars, they do have a bit shorter life.

Next, the copper has almost no resistance.  The carbon wires do have resistance.  This affects the way the spark plug fires.  If the plugs are matched to the wires, there is no problem either way.

If the resistance is too low, the spark starts too easily, and is too cool of a spark temperature, regardless of heat range. This can foul plugs, but with the correct heat range it won't foul, but also won't be a hot enough spark to properly light fuel.

If the resistance is too high, the spark temp is too high and the spark duration is too short.  It's not there long enough to light all of the fuel.  This also stresses cap, rotor, wires, coil and can make the coil overheat.

Either way, the car won't light fuel and run properly.  Take your choice, just match the plugs to the wires.  Unless you want the radio, then you DON'T want solid copper.  All you will hear is static.

thanks for the excelent explanation, it was just a matter of being curious about the difference. me and my "electric issues adviser"  had no idea about it.. i had already bought  the same set of  carbon graphite wires as was in my car .
