Hello All,

I have a 78 vette with a spare tire light that comes on for a few seconds once you open the door.

I had hooked up some under lighting to it and it looked sharp when it was working.

Took it to a shop for some brake work and the lift crushed the under lights, replaced them, however nothing is working now?

Not sure which fuse to check, and was also told about a relay behind the glove box as well?

Any ideas?

Thank you, in advance,

Very likely crushed some of the wires and shorted out when you tried them blowing the fuse. I assume you hooked power to them from a light wire of some sort. Check the fuse for the lights first. If not take a 12 volt test light and check both sides of each fuse until you find one that doesn't light up the test light, that will more than likely be your problem.

Just cant figure out which fuse this would be?

Looking at the image here for my fuse box:

http://s7.directupload.net/images/120125/xxn7fjgm.jpg

I changed out the clk ltr ctsy and it rest my radio.

all other items in car seem to be working?

Gages, tail lights etc, so looking at the diagram of the box did not help, and the box is so far
up, its hard to just look at the fuses one by one.

That's why you need a 12 volt test light.

Clip end of test light needs to clip on a good ground, a metal part under dash and other end you touch both ends of the fuse and check which fuse only lights on one end. If power is going thru fuse it will on both ends, if filament inside fuse is blown no power will come out the other side of fuse. It is most IMPORTANT that the clip end of test light is attached to a good ground!

Exactly! Your test light should light up on both sides of the fuse or it is blown. Corvettes can be tough to find good grounds on because of the fiber glass body.

Thank you,

Well, they all work. I thought I found it as one did not test ok, but when I pulled it out my interior light on dash went out so I put it back.

I was told there is some sort of delay relay behind the glove box, could that be shorted out somehow?

Thank you.
