I am replacing the weatherstripping on my 81 Corvette.
The side window is curved and I noticed that after replacing these pieces, there is a gap between the weatherstrip and the glass.
Any suggestions? Is there a shim or could I have the wrong side glass?

Shouldn't be to curved on the rear glass and both weather strips are together on mine.

Yup, a pic would help. I've never heard of the side windows not touching new weatherstrips. Normally, they are too thick, and need to "set".
When I replaced mine, a few years back, the instructions said to install the w-strip, and then leave the doors closed, windows up, for several days.
Maybe you have the wrong weatherstrips, or they are defective.

The 81 is in need of some serious TLC and it's possible that the windows are not adjusted properly.
It's also possible that I have the wrong seals or I placed them too far
back on the post whe I replaced them. I purchased a complete set and all others have fit with no problems.
I thought that someone might not have re-installed shims if the weatherstips were replaced years ago.
No pics yet. I need to learn how to do that too!
If someone could help with that, I'll post them tomorrow.
Thanks for the info.

OK. I have taken some photos and downloaded them.
Take a look and see what is wrong with your weather strip.

I was not able to take the photos today. Thanks Iron 82 for the pics.
Adam's Apple, it is the middle part of the vertical seal up that is in question.
Regarding second part of the problem, I asked around how to upload my pics for the URL and Photobucket was recommended to upload my pics.
I live to learn.
After looking at Iron 82 pics, my windows probably need adjustment and move the seal 1/4"+ forward.
