So I was reading the thread about the seat covers and I had this question. My car came with no shoulder seat belts - just lap belts. I know it was an option. Are all the seat frames the same, and they just put on seat covers with the cutout at the top for the shoulder belts? When I recover my seats, I want to put that option in in case I ever do put shoulder belts in.

Seat frames ('70 - '75) are suppose to be the same and should have the slot in them for the shoulder belt.  You will need the seat back trim moulding (left & right) and the shoulder harness bezels (left & right) for the back of the seats.

Great question, one that's been on my mind too.

So I'm guessing that there are supports in the rear compartment to bolt the shoulder harness into? Should that be standard on all cars? Mine's a convertible too, so will our belt set be different from a coup?

Bryan it's a very easy install, the holes for the bolts are already in the car and threaded. I installed them in my 72 conv. You just need the right inserts on your seats. I purchased my belts from Andover, they make belts and have a pretty good price www.andoauto.com just in case you need it.
