When I got my '71 coupe, the shoulder belts were properly installed through the slots in the seats. Unfortunately, the lap belts did not have the mating piece that allows the shoulder belts to function. Pretty stupid huh? Well now my drivers lap belt is broken so I think it's time to regroup. I've checked a few places on-line and I'm having mediocre luck. Anyone had luck finding seatbelts? Advantages to refurbished vs NOS vs used vs ??

To my knowledge finding seatbelts at all is pretty tough, your best bet might be used from a junkyard. Problem there is that they're worn etc. Try checking Zip Vette's also...but I think they guy said he was having troulbe finding seatbelt stuff when I called about extenders on my 75. www.zip-corvette.com Good Luck.

I got the balck plastic shoulder strap/lap belt connectors from chicago corvette several years ago. not sure if they are still available.

Do they refurbish your original belts or do they sell replacements? Best way to contact them?
Thanks ` Joe

Tom,
Just got back from Carlisle & have the seatbelt issue resolved. FYI although Snake-oyl does nice work, they wanted $650 to refurbish just my lap belts! I saw 2 other vendors offering top-quality belts -- one with a complete NOS set of lap & shoulder belts for $550 and another with a refurbished set for $500. (Guy was from Albuquerque, NM.) We took the date codes off my old ones & stamped the new ones the same (24E71). I just finished installing them & found it was no big deal. They look a million times better than the old crap they replace. I'll see if I can get a few bucks for the old ones at the next swap meet.
