Vette(s): 1972 LT1 Cpe. Bryar Blue. 47,500 Miles Original Interior, exterior repainted and is a 10 footer (ok, maybe a 15 footer).
Not too long ago I was reading in the forum where a C3 owner had installed seat belts that were better than the originals. I have a '72 and while I have the original belts in the car I want to change them over to an easier to use set up, ie. two piece inertial rather than the clip on shoulder unit. Has any one out there done this and if so was it possible to thread the belt through the seat back as stock? The need would be for a belt set up that was long enough to accomodate the distances required in the C3.

Brian, Thanks for the information. As I recall it was your conversion that I first saw. Was there a reason why the receiver's you used were from a different application? I noted that the belts were from a '99 Formula and the receivers from a '91. Step 11 notes "remove the buckle from the belts". Could you clarify that one. I hate to be a pain in the butt with all the questions, but as soon as it makes sense to me I will undertake the project. I recently purchased a '72 LT1 and am in the middle of some winter projects on the car (MSD Ignition, Tilt-tele conversion, a host of maintenance items and hopefully the seat belts as well). By the way, if the pic's are any indication, you have a very nice Corvette. Thanks, Allan
