The Vette was purchased in 1975 with a non OEM replacement carpet set installed. Some where in 1990 (?) I purchased a Al Knoch replacement carpet set and installed it my self. That carpet has since disintegrated and once again replacing it and most of the interior pieces. So I have no idea how some of the carpet parts fit, particularly under the seats.

I need to know how the carpet and seat belt plastic covers were originally situated. Does the plastic cover go on top of the carpet, with the interior part cut out around the seat belt retractor well, or does the plastic cover go on first and the carpet runs over the top not cut in any way?

Finally getting something going, was way too hot to fold myself up and into the rear cargo area this summer. I did get the 3 door assembly and carpet  installed back there this week :)

Vette(s): 1972 conv, 4-speed, 350, 200hp, numbers match, rally wheels, war bonnett yellow w/white top. good condition, nice driver.

Hi, Are you going to have the car judged? Need to get a N.C.R.S. book that describes the requirements. If not, when I did mine, no judging, I put the carpet over the cover. The slot for retractor can be cut out of carpet on the edge. It's real close. The seat belt female end on the inside goes over the carpet. Just poke a hole in the carpet where the bolt goes.
