I am planning on replacing my seat backs to my 78, I have the older style seat with the hard plastic back. Just wondering if anyone had done this recently and where they got them from.

Thanks as always. Smile

Most of the typical vendors have them, but they are mostly repros. I do see originals from time to time, but they can be quite pricey. I have had good luck on interior parts from both Dr. Rebuild, and Paragon Corvettes.

Joe,
There's a number of Corvette parts suppliers that has them. Corvette Central, Corvette America, maybe Bairs has them as well.

The repros are actually pretty nice if you don't mind not "correct". They are abs instead of fiberglass and fit quite nice. I had a pair but sold them only cause I found the one NOS replacement I actually only needed.
I do have an original in excellent shape but very slightly warped, it doesn't fit tight to the back of the seat. About a 3/8"gap on one side.
One of the most recent vendor catalogs I received has what they are calling correct fiberglass replacements. Gotta find it and post the info.

Bought mine from Mid-America Motor works. They fit well and worked nicely!

At Corvette Specialties, we carry the Corvette America interior products because they seem to be the highest quality currently on the market.

If yours are in good enough shape you could paint them, all the catalogs have the interior paint colors. Or as Corvette Specialties advises you can get them pretty easy from them, just make sure you know your years interior color you need for the proper match up.Big%20smile Aaron19762008-02-03 23:37:52
