Hey everyone, Happy New Year!

I was missing a seat back button for my 78, so I ordered one the other day. When I went to install I noticed that the part that is connected to the seat as a metal plug sticking out of the center, no hole just a solid round piece. The button has a screw in the center that can unscrew.

So my question is, has anyone replaced the button and how in the world is it supposed to connect?Smile

Thanks as always and spring is almost here.

Vette(s): 1978 Corvette Light Blue Pulled from the swamps of Miami! Its a driver and back on the road!
I have a 78 just like yours and did this this past summmer but forget. I am on the road but will look when I get home, but you'll  have an answer by then, it did seem a little odd when I did mine...Have a 78 light corvette blue 35000 or so and trying to get it up and running, I ccannot believe how the previous owner let it get so bad.....one thing after another but  trying to be persistant and not go broke....I have a problem with the upright part of the seat not being supported by the 2 adjustment screws on the bottom of the back part  they are not lining up and so the seat back is leaning way back, also replace all of the back hardware such as your seatback button ...goodluck with your button liek I said you'll have an answer before I can get back to you ..BB78
