Vette(s): #'s matching hugger orange '77. flowmasters rebuilt eng & trans
Hi Guys, I can see the strips (appears to be darker lines) through my aging paint any immediate concern? or does the body resto. guy just deal with that when sanding and painting?

There is no need for concern. The only way to fix it is to sand it down, perhaps seal it, reprime, and repaint. Unless you want to do all that, then just live with it. It won't hurt the car per say. The only factor is how much it bugs you.

I can notice the bonding strips on all 3 of my Vettes. Some are more noticeable than others, especially with the black paint. Doesn't bother me a bit. Just another Vette "thing".

Thanks guys.
This is, as you know, my first vette and truly value your opinions and advice because on some of this stuff I dont know what to think. I really feel alot better now that you responded.
This is a totally unique experience. with the fiberglass body, if I hadnt seen pictures when shopping I would never have looked behind seats for the battery. The handling and tightness of the suspension in curves is unlike anything I've driven, and this is a thirty year old car? I'm really impressed. Nothing rattles or squeakes over bumps. I dont know when this throw away after 4 years mentality began but I think the auto industry could look at that. My 2001 Youkon: doors squeak. stuff rattles?
Thanks again

Tunnelback, don't feel bad. On my first Vette, I thought the lines where the seams are were "Racing Stripes"!
I thought they had faded out! We learn as we go,it never hurts to ask, and this appears to be the place to go for info on our cars.

I've heard people say that its the way you can tell that the car is original,if you dont see the stripes it means the body work has been re-done,only the factory job shows the lines, every body else takes the time to eliminate them, dont know if its true or not, just my 2 cents
