Running lines through firewall

Since the ignition switch is shot and my daughter has wanted a start button in the vette"cause it would be soooo cool!"  I've decided to install one.  Where is the most convenient place to pass wires through the firewall? Just goofing around I found a very convenient rubber plug to pass the wires through.  As with all my projects I have to break them down in 15 minute segments so my back holds up.  Next I'll get my daughter to hook up the leads and I'll install the button.

you should be able to hook up your push button switch right at the start sw on the steering column, using the existing wires inside

Bob, one of the reasons I was looking to use direct lines was my bad back.  It's been pretty bad lately and crawling up unnder the steering column and dash would probably land me in bed for a week.

Yeppers, all done.  Easy job as well, espeicially since I had my daugter get under the car and steering column.

Careful what you wish for with the C5!  I could not keep mine aligned, could not keep tires on it, and the interior was falling apart faster than I could fix it.  And I babied it!  But it was beautiful, and very reliable. 

I still miss it, tho...

What year I am thinking 2000 +

C5s were 1997-2004 (mine pictured was an '04).  All were LS1 engines, 2000+ were 350 hp/350 torque.  Terrific, reliable powertrain.  Powerful and 30mpg highway.  Mine was a daily driver, which I wouldn't recommend.  But if you can afford to have one as a weekend warrior, go for it!  No better value out there at the moment.
