Vette(s): 1980 all org. with 18000 act. miles dk claret with matching interior..Eagle alloys ..loaded..excellent cond.
Ok guys and gals...Whats your opinion on stripping the flat black paint on the rocker panels under the doors? Have seen them done on a black 1980. The stainless steel look look's nice.

Personally, not into the stainless. I just scuffed mine and repainted them with the original paint. Just my humble opinion

I removed all the flat black paint from my 80 rockers. I think it's a great improvement! I had a couple of small dents on the driver side . I took it to a local body shop , and for 15 dollars they made it look new.I plan on removing all the flat black on my vette. I prefer the flashey look on a light colored vette.I really didn't know if someone had painted them black or if it came that way stock. Now i know ...Thanks
I think it would be best to remove them before striping them. I did and i'm a happy camper!

They came from the factory that way. What color is your vette?
