Into finishing this 79 L-82. Replaced aftermarket radio with original AMFM Delco Stereo. Stock speakers in front and back. Leaving front alone, but I want to replace the back two 6" speakers. Any suggestions ? I am thinking of going down to Circuit City, and just get two 6" speakers they are selling for around $49.95 handling up to 90 W. This radio will not see that much output, but looking for decent sound on stock radio. Any suggestions, and thanks. |saluteflag| |cool|

Vette(s): 1975 C3 Red, T-Tops, Black Interior. All I need is time and money! Getting there!
Delco Radios require 8 ohm speakers. Specs often say 8 to 12 ohm speakers. Many auto speakers are 4 ohm. They won't sound right. But if you have too much ohms, they won't sound right either.

If you use only one speaker per channel, go 8 ohms.
You can use two 4 ohms speakers in series, and have 8 ohms. This works very well.
You can also use two 16 ohm speakers in parallel, for a total resistance of 8 ohms in the channel circuit.

Just get the 8 to 12 ohms total per channel any all will be good.

Just make sure in all your parallel and series wiring you don't go below 8 ohms. If you do you risk burning your amp.

Ken - Davii - Thanks for the info. Looks like Best Buy has what I need, 49.95 pair. Not bad. Did the console side panels yesterday, masonite works well to glue carpet to, finish carpet today, re-furbish seat shells, clip in new leather cushions, then just get the AC compressor working, and headlights fixed, to finish.
Looks and smells new inside. |saluteflag| |cool|

Found a pair of original NOS GM Delco 6" round 8 ohm speakers on e-bay.
