Last fall I had my 69 coupe painted Monza Red. What I didn't ask for was overspray getting on my black leather seats and black console. Before I start attacking the areas with paint remover, any words of caution or recommendations? I really don't want to remove black along with the red.

Vette(s): 1979 Black coupe. 11256 original, documented, miles on it when I bought it in April of 2000. It now has 13100 on it. Oyster interior, like new. Everything original, everything works, except the clock. Paint has a couple of minor flaws.
Did you tell the owner of the painting facility about your problem? He is the guy that should be responsible for the overspray removal. Then if it affected your leather or console, HE could replace it, or be set up for a lawsuit... He was responsible for letting this happen... I'm sure he didn't paint it for free...

I also agree. The paint shop should fix the problem. If you end up doing the repairs yourself, I think the console can just be resprayed with the correct color dye sold by Mid-America, Ecklers or any of the other suppliers. The seats are probably gonna be a problem. I have never tried to remove paint from leather. Sadly, if you go after the painter in court, your legal expenses may overrun the actual cost to replace the seats and console.
