New C3 owner here. Do I have to remove the entire console to get the lighter out?  Can I not just unscrew it?  It just seems to spin.

help!

I think you can remove the HVAC controls and get to the outer screw on part of the lighter.

Welcome BB.

Is it a Manual or Auto Tranny? I believe you can remove the 4 corner screws of the shift plate and lift it high enough to get to the bottom of things. The Auto Shifter makes things tighter though. Climate Control Box can hinder this approach as well. Not sure if the Vent Knob/levers pose a problem as I only know AC consoles.

Whatcha tryin to do ... replace it?

Steve

I have a 1970 and removing the ash tray can give a little access, but I do mean little. You have to carefully pull off the wire/connector from the lighter socket, then you might be able to unscrew it.
